Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of FreeRoot.io. By using our platform, you agree to these terms. FreeRoot.io is a technology services company — not a publisher, literary agent, or distributor.

1. The Service

FreeRoot.io provides authors with software tools to sell books directly to readers. We are a technology vendor only. We do not acquire, license, or claim any rights to authors' works.

2. Author Eligibility

To use FreeRoot.io as an author you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Have the legal right to sell your books directly to consumers
• Ensure your use of our platform does not violate any existing publishing contract or licensing agreement
• Complete the Author Services Agreement and provide accurate tax information

3. Fees

FreeRoot.io charges a flat fee of $1.00 per book sold through your storefront. No monthly fees, no setup costs, no revenue share beyond the per-unit fee. Print and fulfillment costs and payment processing fees are passed through at exact cost with no markup.

4. Payouts

Author earnings are disbursed on a rolling 7-day cycle to the bank account or PayPal address on file. FreeRoot.io is not responsible for delays caused by the author's financial institution.

5. Prohibited Uses

You may not use FreeRoot.io to sell:

• Content that infringes copyright or other intellectual property rights
• Content that is illegal, obscene, or harmful
• Content that violates any third party's rights

6. Termination

Either party may terminate the Author Services Agreement with 30 days written notice. No exit fees apply. Authors receive a full data export within 14 days of termination request.

7. Limitation of Liability

FreeRoot.io's total liability is limited to fees paid in the 12 months preceding any claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by applicable law. Disputes are resolved first through mediation, then binding arbitration.
